Deposit Shows Completed but Balance Is Missing
This is a common source of confusion for Binance beginners: the deposit record clearly shows "Completed," but you can't see the balance on the trading page. Where did the money go?
Don't worry — your funds haven't disappeared. This usually happens because you're looking in the wrong account. Binance has multiple sub-accounts for different functions, and deposited funds go to different accounts depending on the deposit method.
If you don't have a Binance account yet, sign up for Binance first to learn how the account system works.
Binance's Different Accounts
Spot Account
This is the account used for spot trading (buying/selling crypto). On-chain deposits (transfers from other platforms or wallets) generally go to the Spot account.
Funding Account
The Funding account is a unified storage account. Crypto purchased through P2P goes to the Funding account. Funds in the Funding account can't be traded directly — you need to transfer them to the Spot account first.
Futures Account
Used for perpetual and delivery futures trading. Funds are never automatically deposited here — you must manually transfer from another account.
Margin Account
Used for margin spot trading. This also requires a manual transfer of funds.
Earn Account
If you've subscribed to Binance Earn products (Flexible Savings, Locked Savings, Launchpool, etc.), your funds will appear in the Earn account.
How to Quickly Find Your Funds
Method 1: Check the Asset Overview
- Open the Binance app.
- Tap the "Assets" tab at the bottom.
- The top shows your "Estimated Total Balance."
- Below it, each account's balance is listed.
- Find the account with a non-zero balance.
Method 2: Search for a Specific Coin
- On the Assets page, tap the search icon.
- Enter the coin name (e.g., USDT).
- The system will display how that coin is distributed across each account.
Method 3: Check Deposit History
- Go to "Assets" then "History" then "Deposits."
- Find the corresponding deposit record.
- The record will show which account the funds were credited to.
How to Transfer Between Accounts
Once you've located your funds, transferring them to another account is simple:
- After downloading the Binance app, open it.
- Go to "Assets."
- Tap the "Transfer" button.
- Select "From" one account "To" another account.
- Choose the coin.
- Enter the amount (you can tap "Max").
- Confirm the transfer.
Transfer features:
- Completely free — no fees charged.
- Instant — no waiting time.
- You can transfer back and forth between any accounts at any time.
Common "Can't Find My Money" Scenarios
Scenario 1: Bought USDT via P2P but Spot trading balance is 0
P2P purchases go to the Funding account. Before trading on the Spot market, you need to transfer USDT from the Funding account to the Spot account.
Scenario 2: On-chain deposit arrived but Futures account balance is 0
On-chain deposits typically go to the Spot account. If you want to trade futures, manually transfer funds to the Futures account.
Scenario 3: Joined Launchpool but coins seem to have vanished
Your coins have been staked in the Earn activity. You can see your staked funds under "Earn" then "Launchpool." Funds will return to the Spot account after the event ends or when you manually redeem.
Scenario 4: Total assets show a balance but every account reads 0
Check whether the "Hide Small Balances" feature is enabled. Find the toggle on the Assets page and turn it off to see if your funds appear. Also check if some funds are frozen in open orders.
Scenario 5: Deposited one coin but want to trade another
You need to exchange it first on the Spot market. For example, if you deposited USDT and want to buy BTC, find the BTC/USDT trading pair on the Spot market and buy BTC.
Which Account Do Funds Need to Be In for Withdrawals?
Different withdrawal methods require funds in different accounts:
- On-chain withdrawal (to another platform or wallet): Funds need to be in the Spot account.
- P2P sell (convert back to fiat): Funds need to be in the Funding account.
- Internal transfer (to another Binance user): Funds need to be in the Funding account.
If your funds aren't in the right account, simply transfer them before withdrawing.
Viewing Detailed Asset Distribution
The Binance app offers a detailed asset analysis feature:
- Go to "Assets."
- View the proportion of assets in each account.
- Tap on a specific account to see every coin you hold, along with its quantity and value.
- You can also sort by value.
This feature helps you get a full picture of your asset distribution and avoid leaving funds forgotten in some corner.
FAQ
Is there a limit on how many transfers I can make?
No. You can transfer between accounts as many times as you want, with no cooldown period.
Can deposits be automatically routed to the Futures account?
Automatic transfers are not supported at this time. Each transfer requires manual action. That said, it's very quick — just a few seconds.
Can all coins be transferred between all accounts?
Most coins can be freely transferred between the main accounts. However, certain special tokens may only be usable in specific accounts.
What if the price changes during a transfer?
Transfers simply move funds between your own accounts — no trading is involved. You're transferring the coin quantity, which is unaffected by price changes.
